Nigerian R&B superstar Tems continues to solidify her place in global music with new Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifications and another Grammy award win, 9am news reports.

Her hit single Free Mind has been certified 2X platinum, having sold over two million units in the United States. The track, which peaked at No. 46 on the Billboard Hot 100, enjoyed a remarkable 26-week run on the chart.

Additionally, her song Higher has achieved platinum status, marking another million-unit milestone. Both tracks are from her debut EP, For Broken Ears, further proving the lasting impact of her early work. Her hit collaboration Found featuring Brent Faiyaz and her BET-winning single Me & U from her debut album Born In The Wild have also earned gold certifications.

The year 2025 is already shaping up to be another career-defining moment for Tems. At the recently concluded 67th Grammy Awards, she secured three nominations and won her second Grammy for Best African Music Performance. This achievement makes her the first Nigerian artist to win the category.

Tems also made history as the first Nigerian female artist to be nominated in the Best Global Albums category and the first Nigerian artist to receive a nomination in the Best R&B Song category.

Following the success of her debut album Born In The Wild in 2024, Tems embarked on a highly successful world tour, selling out shows across Europe and North America. With new accolades and global recognition, 2025 is set to be another milestone year for the two-time Grammy winner, cementing her status as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
