Mohamed Salah made history once again becoming the sixth-highest goalscorer in Premier League history after scoring twice in Liverpool 2-0 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. The result extends Liverpool’s lead at the top of the Premier League table to nine points as they continue their pursuit of a second league title and their 20th English championship overall.

Liverpool took the lead in the first half when Salah calmly converted a penalty after Cody Gakpo was brought down in the box by Bournemouth captain Ryan Christie. The Egyptian forward then doubled Liverpool’s advantage in the second half with a stunning strike into the top corner, sealing all three points for The Reds.

With 22 goals in 24 Premier League appearances this season, Salah has now recorded 20+ league goals in five different campaigns, further cementing his status as one of the greatest forwards in English football. His latest milestone sees him surpass Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard in the all-time Premier League goalscoring chart.

Bournemouth entered the match unbeaten in their last 11 Premier League fixtures, but they were unable to contain Liverpool’s attacking firepower, remaining in seventh place. Meanwhile, Liverpool will turn their focus to the rescheduled Merseyside derby against Everton on Wednesday as they continue their charge towards another Premier League title.
