The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 93.76 percent of the results from the Edo governorship election on its IReV viewing portal. As of 8:25 pm on Saturday, 4,237 results out of 4,519 polling units had been made available for public viewing.
In an earlier interview with Arise Television, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Edo, Anugbum Onuoha, confirmed that the results of the election would be transmitted electronically. Onuoha explained that BVAS (Bimodal Voter Accreditation System) had been deployed across the state to accredit voters and upload results to IReV. However, he cautioned that poor network coverage in certain areas could delay the transmission of results.
“We are set,” Onuoha stated, “but if there’s no network, transmission will be delayed.”
