Ogasabi and 9am news Nigeria report that Abuja, the capital of the federation, is currently hosting a meeting of governors from the 36 states. They are gathering at the FCT’s NGF secretariat under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.

At the meeting location, several governors have already arrived. Governors Lawal Dauda (Zamfara), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta), and Alex Otti (Abia) are among those present. Meanwhile, the governors of Borno State, Babagana Zulum, and Enugu, Peter Mbah, have sent delegates to speak on their behalf.

As of now, the meeting’s agenda remains private. This forum marks the first public gathering since President Bola Tinubu authorized a ₦70,000 minimum salary. At the previous meeting the governors committed to paying Nigerian workers a reasonable minimum wage.

The governors will likely address the hotly debated issue of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on local government autonomy and the upcoming nationwide demonstration against bad governance during this forum. Ogasabi and 9am news Nigeria will continue to provide updates on these crucial discussions.
