Wikki Tourists of Bauchi, Warri Wolves, Barau FC of Kano, and Kun Khalifat of Owerri have officially secured promotion to the 2025/2026 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season, following decisive victories in the NNL Super 8 playoffs.
In a thrilling contest at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, the Bauchi-based Wikki Tourists knew only a win would do against Yobe Desert Stars, who went into the match with four points. Wikki responded with an emphatic statement, scoring four first-half goals to end the encounter comfortably and secure their ticket to the elite league.
At the same venue, Warri Wolves delighted home fans as they defeated Crown FC 2-1, finishing top of the Southern Conference with six points and a superior goal difference. The result marks a successful return to the NPFL for the Delta side.
Elsewhere, at the Delta State University of Science and Technology, Ozoro, Barau FC stunned Doma United 2-0 to grab one of the remaining Northern Conference spots. Meanwhile, Kun Khalifat sealed their promotion with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Osun United, wrapping up the Southern Conference ticket.
