Wike Set To Face Disciplinary Committee Over Anti-Party Activities – PDP

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike may face the PDP's disciplinary committee over anti-party allegations
Wike Face Committee

Ogasabi on 9am News reveals that Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, may soon face the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) disciplinary committee over allegations of anti-party activities. Wike has been formally invited by the PDP to appear before the committee, which was established by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC).

During an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Monday, the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Abdullahi, confirmed that Wike is among those expected to face the committee. “Three weeks ago, we set up two committees—one for reconciliation and another for discipline—and Nyesom Wike is one of the persons who will face the disciplinary committee, headed by elder statesman Chief Tom Ikimi,” Abdullahi stated.

The disciplinary committee’s primary role is to investigate allegations of anti-party behavior. According to Abdullahi, the committee has received numerous petitions accusing Wike and other party members of actions that sabotage the party. These allegations have raised concerns within the PDP, with some members even suggesting that Wike should no longer be part of the party.

Wike Issuing Warnings To PDP Governors

Over the weekend, Wike issued a stark warning to the PDP governors, threatening to create a political crisis if they continued to interfere in the party’s affairs in Rivers State. Speaking at the PDP’s state congress in Port Harcourt on Saturday, the former Rivers State governor declared, “Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give it back to somebody, I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states.”

In response to Wike’s fiery remarks, Abdullahi expressed the party’s disappointment, stating that such comments were inappropriate and unexpected. “Wike needs to learn to control his language; it was a really depressing statement. To be honest with you, we disagree with him on that, and we weren’t expecting him to say that,” Abdullahi remarked.
