Nigerian international Umar Sadiq has been shortlisted for LaLiga Player of the Month and Goal of the Month for March, following a standout performance for Valencia, 9am news reports.

Sadiq faces strong competition for the Player of the Month award, as he is up against:

  • Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid)
  • Isco (Real Betis)
  • Marcos Alonso (Celta Vigo)
  • Pedro Díaz (Rayo Vallecano)

The 28-year-old forward has been in top form, registering three goals in three league appearances for Los Ches this month.

Sadiq showcased his goal-scoring abilities with a brace in Valencia’s 3-3 draw against Osasuna on March 2. He then delivered a match-winning goal in Valencia’s 2-1 victory over Real Valladolid on March 8.

His stunning strike also earned him a Goal of the Month nomination, where he will go head-to-head with:

  • Florin Rațiu (Rayo Vallecano)
  • Diego García (CD Leganés)

Sadiq has now scored four goals in eight LaLiga appearances for Valencia, proving his value to Carlos Corberán’s side. His recent form has further cemented his status as one of Nigeria’s top talents in European football.

If he secures the Player of the Month award, it will be a significant milestone in his career and a testament to his impact in Spanish football.
