Two-storey building collapsed in Alimosho, Lagos, trapping six people. LASEMA rescued all victims, with one rushed to LASUTH in stable condition.

A two-storey building collapsed on Tuesday evening at 4, Modupeola Street, Mangoro bus stop, Alimosho, Lagos State, leaving six people trapped.

The incident, which occurred around 6 p.m., is under investigation, as the immediate cause has not yet been determined.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), supported by other first responders, swiftly arrived at the scene. Five people were rescued and taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

Another victim, a 44-year-old man residing at 10, Olabode Street, Alimosho, sustained a fracture and multiple bruises. He was evacuated by the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS) to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Surgical Emergency unit. He arrived stable and was admitted for further care.

Government officials have launched an inquiry into the collapse, with emphasis on assessing the structural integrity of buildings in the area to prevent similar incidents.
