Trevor Noah, the acclaimed South African comedian, has been unveiled as the host of the 67th Grammy Awards, marking his fifth consecutive stint in this role. The event is scheduled for Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Fans can watch the ceremony live on CBS or stream it on Paramount+.

The 2025 Grammys promise to be a momentous occasion for the Nigerian music industry, as Afrobeats stars dominate the African Song Performance category. Tems leads the pack with three nominations, including Best Global Album for her debut LP Born in the Wild, Best African Song Performance, and a groundbreaking nod for Best RnB Performance with her hit single Burning.

Rema is also in contention for Best Global Album with his sophomore release, HEIS, as he aims for his first Grammy win. Yemi Alade earns her inaugural Grammy nomination in the Best African Song Performance category, while Asake secures his second nod for MMS, a collaboration with Wizkid.

Lojay achieves his first Grammy recognition for his contributions to Chris Brown’s Sensational, which features Davido. Meanwhile, Burna Boy continues to make history with his 10th career Grammy nomination for his single Higher.

The African Song Performance category is particularly competitive, but with such a strong Nigerian representation, the nation is guaranteed to celebrate a victory this year.

The previous Grammy Awards saw heartbreak for Nigerians, as South African star Tyla won the maiden African Song Performance award. However, the 67th Grammys could mark a new chapter of triumph for Afrobeats and Nigerian music on the global stage.

As the world tunes in for music’s biggest night, Trevor Noah’s wit and charm, paired with Nigeria’s cultural dominance, are sure to make this an unforgettable Grammy Awards.
