Nigeria forward Tolu Arokodare has opened the door to a potential move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, expressing excitement at the prospect despite the club’s current lineup featuring England star Harry Kane.
Arokodare has been in red-hot form this season for Belgian Pro League side KRC Genk, netting an impressive 20 goals and providing six assists for the Smurfs. His standout performances have sparked transfer rumours linking him to the newly crowned Bundesliga champions.
In an interview with Het Laatste Nieuws, the 24-year-old made it clear that he would jump at the opportunity to join the Bavarian heavyweights.
“If the opportunity comes, I have to make sure I’m ready,” Arokodare said. “You don’t know how many times a train will pass, so I don’t want to miss any opportunities.”
When asked about the prospect of playing behind Bayern’s top scorer Harry Kane, Arokodare responded with enthusiasm.
“That I would be the stand-in for Harry Kane? Yes. That would be nice, wouldn’t it? It’s still rumours, I haven’t had any contact,” he added.
Arokodare’s first experience in German football, a loan spell with FC Cologne in 2020, was less than memorable, but the forward made it clear that things would be different this time.
“It wasn’t a good experience, no. But things change when you are talking about Bayern and Dortmund, don’t they?” he said with a smile.
According to the 9am News report, Arokodare’s remarkable form has not gone unnoticed, and a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs could soon materialize. For now, the Nigerian striker remains focused on finishing the season strong with Genk while keeping an eye on the potential next step in his career.
