In another landmark milestone, Tems, Nigeria’s global music sensation, has achieved yet another feat on the international stage, Her hit single ‘Love Me Jeje’ has surpassed 500,000 units in sales in the United States, making it eligible for a gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
This new achievement was confirmed by Chart Data, a reputable U.S.-based music chart monitoring platform, and marks another high point in Tems’ trailblazing career. According to a 9am News report, this development comes just three months after Tems earned four additional RIAA certifications, further solidifying her status as one of the highest-certified Nigerian artists in history.
‘Love Me Jeje’ has become one of Tems’ biggest songs to date. It earned her a Grammy Award for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards, reaffirming her place at the top of Africa’s music export chart.
Tems’ global dominance was again on display at the 2025 MET Gala, where she turned heads with her bold fashion and was praised for representing African excellence. On the red carpet, Tems passionately spoke about the richness of African music, emphasizing that while Afrobeats leads the international conversation, other African genres have the potential to go global.
“Afrobeats is just one window into the vast universe of African music,” Tems said. “There’s so much more the world is about to hear from us.”
Tems’ music career has soared in the United States, where she’s not only charted highly but also collaborated with music powerhouses such as Drake, Future, Beyoncé, and most recently, J. Cole.
