Nigerian singer and Grammy-winning artist Tems has announced the cancellation of her Born in the Wild tour stop in Kigali, Rwanda, originally scheduled for March 22, 2025. The decision comes in response to the ongoing conflict between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Tems expressed regret over promoting the show without prior knowledge of the situation. She apologized for any insensitivity and extended her support to those affected by the crisis.

“So I recently promoted my show in Rwanda without realising that there is ongoing conflict between Rwanda and Congo. I never ever intend to be insensitive to real-world issues, and I sincerely apologize if this came across that way. I simply had no idea this was going on. My heart goes out to those affected. Conflict is no joke and I truly hope and pray for peace in this time.”

The Kigali concert was part of Tems’ world tour in support of her debut album, Born in the Wild, released in 2024. Over the past year, the Nigerian star has taken her music across the globe, performing in London, Paris, Norway, Germany, the US, Canada, and Australia.

Fans worldwide have praised Tems for her thoughtfulness and awareness, acknowledging her swift response to the conflict and her commitment to respecting global issues.

While the Kigali concert is now off the schedule, Tems is expected to continue the remaining stops on her highly anticipated tour.
