Super Falcons head coach, Justin Madugu, has confirmed that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has offered him a new two-year contract to continue managing the national women’s team.
According to Madugu, the contract will run from October 1, 2025, to October 31, 2027, keeping him in charge through the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, should the Falcons qualify.
The 61-year-old tactician, who took over the team following the resignation of former coach Randy Waldrum, guided the Super Falcons to a historic triumph at the 2024 WAFCON in Morocco, restoring Nigeria’s dominance in women’s football on the continent.
Under Madugu’s leadership, the Super Falcons have shown a blend of discipline, tactical flexibility, and attacking flair qualities that have reignited confidence in the team. His continuity is expected to bring stability as Nigeria prepares for its title defence and World Cup qualification campaign.
Sources within the NFF told 9am News that the new deal is part of the Federation’s long-term strategy to ensure coaching consistency ahead of major international tournaments.
The contract is expected to be officially announced by the NFF in the coming days.
