Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has officially secured the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ticket for the upcoming November 8, 2025 governorship election in the state.
Soludo, who emerged unopposed during the party’s primary held in Awka on Saturday, polled over 300 delegate votes, solidifying his place as APGA’s standard bearer in the coming polls.
The party’s primary, which was peaceful and orderly, saw APGA leaders and stakeholders endorsing Soludo’s candidacy, citing his track record in governance and reforms since assuming office in March 2022.
The former Central Bank Governor’s emergence did not come as a surprise to political observers, considering his strong performance on key state projects, urban renewal, security improvements, and efforts to boost local infrastructure and industrialization.
While full details of the primary are expected to be released later, party officials at the venue commended the transparent nature of the process and reaffirmed their confidence in Soludo’s leadership heading into the general elections.
Soludo will now face candidates from other parties including the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the political race in Anambra begins to take shape ahead of November 2025.
