Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has thrown his support behind Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim, emphasizing that the Portuguese tactician deserves more time and the right players to bring success back to Old Trafford, 9am news reports.
Speaking in a chat with the club’s website, Giggs pointed out that United’s struggles in recent years stem from poor recruitment decisions. “Like any business, recruitment needs to be right and hasn’t been for the last ten years. We’ve just made poor decision after poor decision,” he told The Sun.
The former United winger insisted that Amorim needs full backing in terms of signings and patience from the club’s hierarchy. “Now it’s whether Ruben gets the players he needs, the support he needs, and the time,” he stressed. “Given a chance and given time, Amorim will bring success back.”
Giggs acknowledged that United are currently far from their former dominant selves but remains optimistic that the situation can change quickly. “If we get the right players in and the manager gets time, we will be OK. But at the moment, we are miles off it. We’re nowhere near a long, long way behind but it can soon turn around.”
Highlighting the importance of continuity, Giggs believes Amorim should be given at least three to four transfer windows to rebuild the squad. “We’ve tried giving managers a little bit of time, but now he needs a bit longer three or four transfer windows, I think. It’s whether he gets the players he needs, the support he needs, the time,” he reiterated.
With Manchester United’s recent managerial instability, Giggs’ endorsement underscores the growing call for patience and a long-term vision to restore the club’s competitive edge.
