President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has marked his 73rd birthday with prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja, expressing gratitude to Almighty Allah for His guidance and protection throughout his life.

After observing two Rakat Juma’at prayers, the President reaffirmed his commitment to Nigeria’s peace, stability, and progress, calling for hard work and prayers as guiding principles for leadership.

“I feel good, I feel happy, and we give thanks to Almighty Allah for protecting us so far and continuing to answer our prayers,” Tinubu said.

First Lady’s Tribute: “My Knight in Shining Armor”

First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband, describing him as her “knight in shining armor”.

“I rejoice and thank God Almighty for His faithfulness in your life over the years. I celebrate your courage, strength, and resilience that have all contributed to who we both are today. May you live long, in divine health, joy, peace, and prosperity. Happy Birthday, Mr. President,” she said.

Her message highlighted the bond and partnership between the couple, emphasizing Tinubu’s dedication to service and leadership.

Several political leaders and dignitaries extended their best wishes to President Tinubu, acknowledging his contributions to democracy and governance.

Goodluck Jonathan

Former President Goodluck Jonathan commended Tinubu’s role in Nigeria’s democratic struggle, particularly his efforts in restoring democracy after military rule.

“I acknowledge your service to our dear nation, especially your role in the pro-democracy movement that led to the return of the current democratic dispensation,” Jonathan said.

Vice President Kashim Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima urged Nigerians to pray for Tinubu’s leadership, emphasizing the importance of divine wisdom and strength in governance.

“May Almighty Allah grant him the wisdom, strength, and resolve to continue steering the ship of our great nation towards peace, unity, and prosperity,” Shettima stated.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio praised Tinubu’s dedication to Nigeria’s progress, calling his passion for development “contagious”.

“Your leadership, vision, and dedication to our great nation are truly inspiring,” Akpabio said.

Governor Dapo Abiodun (Ogun State)

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau

Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau described Tinubu as a visionary leader, highlighting his commitment to democratic values and economic reforms.

“In the past 22 months of President Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria is being repositioned for the benefit of both present and future generations,” Barau stated.

Festus Keyamo

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo lauded Tinubu’s long-standing impact on Nigerian democracy, emphasizing that his contributions would be appreciated for decades to come.

“It will take decades before Nigerians fully understand the value President Tinubu has brought into our democratic space,” Keyamo said.

Religious leaders also prayed for Nigeria’s progress during the special prayer session at the National Mosque.

Imam of the National Mosque, Prof. Muhammad Kabir Adam, commended Tinubu for supporting the less privileged during Ramadan.

Dr. Abdulkadir Salman Solagberu, Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate, urged Nigerians to continue praying for the President as he leads the nation.

“Muslims in the country have been praying that Almighty Allah grants you long life, good health, strength, and the wisdom to find solutions to Nigeria’s challenges,” Solagberu said.

Tinubu Pledges Hard Work and Dedication

Speaking after the prayers, President Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to national development, emphasizing that hard work and faith remain his guiding principles.

“Well, the word for all of these is hard work—you work harder, you pray harder. That is the inspiration that I got from all of these,” he said.
