Ogasabi on 9am news reports that Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, expressed strong confidence that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will reclaim Ondo State in the upcoming November 16 governorship election. Speaking at the inauguration of the state campaign council in Akure, the state capital, Adeleke, who is also the Chairman of the National Campaign Council for the Ondo election, emphasized the use of the successful campaign strategy that led to his victory in Osun State. He assured that if the PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi, follows this winning template, victory is certain.
Governor Adeleke Calls For Peaceful Campaign
Adeleke stressed the importance of a peaceful campaign, urging that there should be no thuggery and that the focus should be on issues that matter to the people. He highlighted that the ultimate decision lies with the people of Ondo State, who will determine the outcome of the election.
Drawing a comparison with Osun State, Adeleke proudly stated, “Before we came to government, they said we could not perform in Osun State. Go back to the State now, what APC could not achieve in 12 years, we have achieved under one and a half years, which shows that we are more progressive than any other party in Nigeria.”
In his speech, Adeleke expressed full confidence in the Ondo PDP’s capability to secure victory in the election, praising the experience and leadership qualities of Agboola Ajayi. He reassured the party members that commitment to their goals would lead to success, boldly declaring that PDP will take over Alagbaka by February 2025.
Responding to Adeleke’s remarks, Agboola Ajayi, the PDP candidate for the election, assured that the party is more determined than ever to take control of Ondo State. He stated that no effort would be spared to ensure a victorious outcome, dismissing concerns about recent defections to the APC.
