The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has re-elected Usman Bello-Suru as its chairman for another four-year term, alongside 38 other executive members.
The state congress, which drew delegates from all 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs), was conducted through a secret ballot in the presence of party stakeholders and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Chairman of the State Delegates’ Congress, Mukhtar Lugga, declared the results and described the election as transparent, credible, and fair.
“I testify that the election was conducted peacefully and in full compliance with the law,” Lugga said, commending delegates for their patience and commitment.
Bello-Suru Promises Reconciliation and Party Growth
In his acceptance speech, Bello-Suru expressed gratitude to party members for their confidence, pledging to strengthen the PDP in Kebbi.
“We shall work together as a family to reposition our party, reconcile aggrieved members, and ensure the PDP regains its rightful place in Kebbi politics,” he assured.
Former PDP governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, Aminu Bande, congratulated the new executives and urged them to build bridges, promote unity, and prepare the party for future electoral victories.
PDP Board of Trustees member, Benjamin Dike, added that the successful congress signified renewed strength within the party.
“Nigerians don’t need to be told what the PDP can do. They have already felt the difference between our previous administrations and the current one, which has brought economic hardship,” Dike said.
New Executive Members
Alongside Bello-Suru, other re-elected and newly elected executives include:
- Hussaini Abdullahi-Raha – Deputy Chairman
- Abubakar Bawa-Kalgo – Secretary
- Haruna Mai-Jega – Vice Chairman (Kebbi Central)
- Musa Dagwaya – Vice Chairman (Kebbi South)
- Jibril Muhammad – Vice Chairman (Kebbi North)
- Aliyu Komo – Financial Secretary
- Sani Dododo – Publicity Secretary
- Garba Liman-Boma – Organising Secretary
- Nura Bello – Legal Adviser
- Rabi’atu Umar – Women Leader
- Abdullahi Muhammad-Bunza – Youth Leader

The smooth conduct of the congress is seen as a boost for the PDP in Kebbi, a state where internal crises had previously weakened the party. Analysts say the outcome could help the opposition consolidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
