Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly in discussions with the Serie A club to mutually terminate his contract, which is currently set to expire in June 2026. This comes after Pogba was handed an 18-month ban for testing positive for DHEA, a banned substance that increases testosterone production, following his appearance in Juventus’ opening match of the 2023-24 season against Udinese.
Initially, Pogba faced a four-year suspension, but following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS), the ban was reduced to 18 months, ending in March 2025. Additionally, Pogba’s original fine of 5,000 euros has been overturned, and the ruling permits him to resume training in January 2025.
Despite this development, Juventus head coach Thiago Motta stated that the club has not yet made a decision regarding Pogba’s future, saying, “The club will decide what to do about Pogba… He hasn’t played for a long time.”
With the midfielder’s long-term absence from the pitch and the looming end of his contract, Juventus and Pogba are expected to reach an agreement soon on a potential contract termination. The CAS will officially release its full ruling on Pogba’s appeal on Monday.
