Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has called out the organisers of the Headies Awards for allegedly failing to fulfil their promise of giving him a car after he won the prestigious Next Rated Artiste category at the 2025 edition.

According to a 9am News report, the rapper took to his official X handle to remind fans and the organisers of the yet-to-be-delivered car, writing:
“I DON FORGET SAY I WIN CAR 😂 HEADIES WEY MY CAR?”

The post has sparked conversations online, with many fans expressing disappointment over the situation. Winning the Next Rated category has traditionally come with a brand-new car, making Odumodu’s claim particularly significant.

This isn’t the first time the rapper has clashed with the award organisers. During the April 2025 ceremony, his microphone was abruptly turned off while he was delivering his acceptance speech. Refusing to be silenced, Odumodu stood his ground on stage, drawing applause from the audience until his mic was eventually restored.

In his fiery speech, the 31-year-old rapper declared that his success was proof that barriers against his kind of sound had been broken, affirming that “the machine is coming.” He used the opportunity to inspire upcoming artists, urging them never to accept discouraging comments, emphasizing that his journey should motivate them.

After the event, Odumodu suggested that the mic cutoff was tied to his open reference to Jesus Christ. He stated:
“I was talking about Jesus, and they tried to shut me down. I am a hundred percent sure that if I was talking about His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, I would not have been cut off. I genuinely have no bad blood towards the Headies; rather, I am grateful they put my mic back on to spread the gospel. Jesus is king. He is before now and forever.”

The Headies Awards organisers are yet to respond to Odumodublvck’s latest claim regarding the car. Fans are now awaiting clarification, as the incident raises fresh questions about transparency and credibility in one of Nigeria’s biggest music award ceremonies.
