NNPCL recorded N4.27 trillion revenue and N216 billion profit in September 2025, driven by strong operations and stable fuel supply
NNPCL September profit

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a revenue of N4.27 trillion and a profit after tax of N216 billion for September 2025, reflecting strong operational efficiency and steady market performance across its business segments.

According to NNPCL’s Monthly Report Summary for September 2025, the company maintained robust production levels despite minor declines in crude oil and gas output. Crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.61 million barrels per day, slightly below August’s 1.64 million barrels per day. Similarly, natural gas output dipped to 6,284 million standard cubic feet per day from 6,949 million standard cubic feet per day in the previous month.

Pipeline infrastructure availability stood at 96%, showing high system reliability. Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) supply across NNPC Retail outlets also remained steady at 77%, ensuring fuel availability nationwide. The report further disclosed that cumulative statutory payments to the government between January and August 2025 totalled N10.07 trillion, underscoring NNPCL’s fiscal contribution to national revenue.

Focus on Gas Expansion and Infrastructure Projects

NNPCL noted that temporary production slowdowns were linked to scheduled maintenance activities, including operations at the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) facility and delays in restarting OMLs 71 and 72. However, the company confirmed that collaborative engagements with joint venture partners are ongoing to restore full production capacity.

Progress also continued on key gas infrastructure projects. The Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) gas pipeline, a strategic initiative aimed at boosting industrial gas supply to northern Nigeria, reached 88% completion as of September.

Additionally, the revised execution plan for the River Niger Crossing section of the Obiafu–Obrikom–Oben (OB3) gas pipeline is in motion, targeting completion within the new project timeline. The commissioned 113-kilometre segment is already transporting about 300 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of gas — including 250 mmscf/d from AHL and 50 mmscf/d from Platform, Chorus, and Xenergi.

NNPCL said the positive results reflect its strategic drive toward operational excellence, enhanced production stability, and increased efficiency in resource management. The company’s midstream and upstream focus continues to support Nigeria’s broader energy transition and industrial development objectives.
