Bayer Leverkusen and Nigeria striker Victor Boniface shared a video and photos on Sunday showing his smashed car after being involved in an accident. The forward, who appeared with his arm dripping with blood in the footage, posted the now-deleted content on social media.
Despite the alarming images, German tabloid Bild reported that Boniface is “doing well considering the circumstances and is only slightly injured,” citing a source close to the player. Boniface took to social media, expressing gratitude with messages like “God is the greatest” and “God says my time hasn’t come.”

Leverkusen has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
Boniface, who joined Bayer Leverkusen last season, has been pivotal for the club, helping secure an unbeaten league and cup double, their first-ever Bundesliga win. This season, he has already netted seven goals in 10 games across all competitions. Just this past Saturday, he scored the winning goal in a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, despite missing a penalty earlier in the match.
Leverkusen is scheduled to play French club Brest in the Champions League on Wednesday, though Boniface’s participation is now uncertain.
