A recent report by German online platform Statista has highlighted a significant increase in the population of Nigerians residing in the United Kingdom (UK). The data reveals that the Nigerian population in the UK almost doubled, rising from 90,000 in 2008 to 178,000 in 2021.
This growth positions Nigeria as the ninth-ranked country with the largest population by nationality living in the UK. Notably, Nigeria is the only African country to feature in the top 10 on the list.

- Italy and Romania are in fourth and fifth place, with 342,000 citizens each.
