Following a brief break caused by raids and the arrest of protest leaders, 9am News Nigeria have reported that the nationwide protests have resumed in the Federal Capital Territory, Ibadan, Akure, and Abeokuta on Saturday.

In a 9am News Recall that there was a lot of excitement for the nation’s first day of the hunger nationwide protest, which started on Thursday, August 1, but that enthusiasm has now started to fade.
Images posted on Saturday by Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate in the 2019 and 2023 general elections, on his X account (@YeleSowore) showed demonstrators returning to the streets in all four cities.
