MTN Nigeria Communications PLC has announced the appointment of Dr. Karl Toriola, its current Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, as the new Vice President (VP) of Francophone Africa for MTN Group Limited.
According to a filing on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX), Toriola’s new portfolio will cover Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Congo Brazzaville.
Dr. Toriola is not new to the role, as he previously served as Vice President for West and Central Africa at MTN Group Limited. His return to the Francophone market is seen as a strategic step to strengthen MTN’s operations across the region.
Meanwhile, MTN Nigeria also confirmed that Ferdinand Moolman, a Non-Executive Director, will exit the company’s board effective October 31, 2025. Moolman has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Africa, effective November 1, 2025.
“The Board wishes to express its appreciation to Mr. Moolman for his immense service to MTN Nigeria and success in his new role,” the statement signed by Company Secretary, Uto Ukpanah, read.
The statement further reassured stakeholders that the Board of Directors of MTN Nigeria remains committed to sustaining the company’s growth trajectory and delivering long-term value.
