Mohamed Salah signs a new two-year contract with Liverpool, extending his stay until 2027. The Egyptian star reaffirms commitment to Anfield and targets more trophies with the Reds.
Salah New contract

Ending months of speculation, Mohamed Salah has officially signed a new two-year contract with Premier League leaders Liverpool, keeping him at Anfield until 2027. The Egyptian forward, who was previously set to become a free agent in the summer of 2025, has now extended his stay, reaffirming his loyalty to the club he’s called home since 2017.

In a statement released by Liverpool on Friday, the club confirmed the extension, describing Salah’s new deal as a commitment “beyond the 2024–25 season.” Reports suggest the new contract runs until summer 2027, allowing Salah to complete a full decade with the Reds.

Salah: “I Believe We Can Win More Trophies”

Speaking to the club’s official media, Salah expressed excitement about continuing his journey with Liverpool:

“Of course I’m very excited. We have a great team now. Before also we had a great team. But I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football.

“I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully it’s going to be 10. I’m enjoying my life here, enjoying my football.”

He also had a special message for the fans:

“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we’ll give it our best.”

An Iconic Liverpool Career

Since arriving from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has made 394 appearances and scored 243 goals, making him one of the club’s all-time top scorers. His goal tally includes record-breaking seasons and vital contributions that led Liverpool to numerous titles, including:

  • Premier League
  • UEFA Champions League
  • FA Cup
  • League Cup
  • UEFA Super Cup
  • FIFA Club World Cup

At 32, Salah continues to be a key figure for Arne Slot’s high-flying Liverpool side, who currently top the Premier League table and remain in contention for silverware across multiple competitions.

Salah’s contract saga had sparked rumours linking him with high-profile moves abroad, especially to Saudi Arabia and other European giants. However, his decision to stay puts an end to the speculation and sends a powerful message about his belief in Liverpool’s future project.

The forward’s extended stay not only provides stability for the club’s attacking line but also boosts the confidence of the squad heading into the final stretch of the 2024/25 season.

With a new deal in place and trophies still to chase, Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool story is far from over—and fans can look forward to at least two more years of magic from the Egyptian King.
