In addition, INEC plans to meet with stakeholders on September 10 to monitor voter accreditation in Edo State. The Peace Accord, led by General Abdulsalami Abubakar, will be signed on September 11.
Ogasabi warns that media outlets must avoid spreading false information, which could disrupt the elections, particularly in the digital age. INEC has taken proactive steps to combat misinformation and ensure transparency.
Moreover, Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, advised the media to understand INEC’s election result management processes and adhere to the Nigerian media code of electoral coverage.
