INEC Chairman Yakubu Arrives Edo For Election Preparations

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, visited four Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Edo State on Tuesday to inspect non-sensitive materials ahead of the upcoming off-cycle governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024. 9am news Nigeria reports that Yakubu’s tour began at the INEC office in Ikpoba-Okha LGA, where he reviewed the preparedness with the Commission’s State Electoral Officer, Mr. James Gamble.

After a satisfactory inspection, Yakubu and his team, including National Commissioners and top management staff, visited the INEC office in Egor LGA. The inspection will also extend to Oredo and Ovia North East LGAs, alongside mock accreditation exercises at Western Boys High School 1 and India College II.
