I Abandoned Law for Acting After Earning More in 3 Days – Femi Adebayo

Nollywood star Femi Adebayo shares how a single acting gig paying N50,000 in three days made him quit his N20,000-per-month law job

Renowned Nollywood actor and producer Femi Adebayo has opened up about the pivotal moment he left his legal career behind to embrace acting full-time.

Adebayo, who holds a Master’s degree in Law from the University of Ibadan, revealed in an interview with Pulse that acting was initially just a hobby while he earned a modest salary working as a lawyer.

“Honestly speaking, I was working as a lawyer earning N20,000 monthly,” Adebayo recounted. “Acting was a hobby for me all this while. Then I was invited for a role and they were ready to pay me N50,000 for just three days of acting.”

That offer was more than double his entire monthly salary at the time. For Adebayo, it was the moment of truth that changed his path forever.

“I said, Femi, this acting is your calling. That was when I decided I would abandon law practice and face entertainment fully,” he said.

Born into a family of thespians his father is the legendary actor Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello Femi Adebayo leveraged his talent and family legacy to build a flourishing career in Nollywood. Today, he is celebrated for his outstanding roles as an actor, director, and producer, inspiring a new generation of performers.
