The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has given the green light to a major infrastructure boost with the approval of N187 billion for the completion of the remaining 96 kilometres of the Benin–Shagamu–Ore expressway, 9am News report confirms.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, announced the approval on Monday after the FEC meeting, noting that the new section covers 48 kilometres on each lane, totaling 96 kilometres, which completes the outstanding stretch of the dual carriageway.
Speaking at a press briefing, Umahi said:
“The Benin–Shagamu–Ore Road section, which begins from the Shagamu Exchange covering 12 kilometres per lane (24 km total), now moves into the final phase of 48 kilometres per lane. This brings the total to 96 kilometres, and the contract has been awarded to CBC at N187 billion.”
