The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at strengthening professionalism, accountability, and integrity within the agency.

In a statement shared on its official X handle, @OfficialDSSNG, the agency clarified that the dismissals occurred over a period of time and were part of broader efforts to sanitize its workforce and ensure adherence to the service’s core values.

The statement also included a stern warning to the public to avoid any dealings with individuals who have been dismissed but continue to pose as serving DSS operatives.

“In addition to earlier disclaimers on the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the service finds it necessary to warn citizens of the fraudulent activities of some of these persons still posing as DSS personnel,” the agency noted.

The DSS urged citizens to verify the identity of any individual claiming to be a DSS officer before engaging in any official dealings, emphasizing that all official personnel can be confirmed through proper channels.

“For the sake of clarity, the identities of the dismissed personnel have been published on the website of the service,” the statement added, referring to the DSS official portal — www.dss.gov.ng — where the full list of dismissed officers has been uploaded for public access and transparency.

The agency also advised the public to direct enquiries, reports, or complaints to its official phone line 09088373515 or email address dsspr@dss.gov.ng.

Reaffirming its dedication to professionalism, the DSS stated that it remains fully committed to its constitutional mandate of protecting Nigeria’s internal security and upholding the highest standards of discipline among its personnel.

“This exercise underscores our zero tolerance for misconduct and our determination to maintain public trust,” the statement concluded.
