Davido Postpones Release Date of His Fifth Album

Davido has pushed back the release date of his highly anticipated fifth album, 5ive, from March 15 to April 18, 2025.

Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced a new release date for his upcoming fifth studio album, 5ive. Initially set to drop on March 15, 2025, the album has now been moved to April 18, 2025.

While Davido did not provide a specific reason for the delay, fans will now have to wait an extra month for what promises to be one of the biggest Afrobeats projects of the year.

Despite the postponement, 2025 has been eventful for Davido, who recently secured his fifth Grammy nomination at the 67th Grammy Awards. He received a nod in the Best African Music Performance category for his collaboration with Chris Brown on Sensational.

Additionally, Davido has been nominated in five categories at the upcoming 17th Headies Awards, including the prestigious Artist of the Year.

Ahead of the album release, the singer has already dropped two singles:

  • ‘Awuke’ featuring Jamaican dancehall artist YG Marley
  • ‘Funds’ featuring Chike and OdumoduBlvck

Davido’s Promise: “This One is Straight from the Heart”

Also, In a social media post, Davido described 5ive as his most personal project yet, promising a heartfelt and introspective album.

Fans can expect major collaborations on 5ive, including:

  • A highly anticipated duet with Omah Lay, which the singer described as a “perfect partnership” in a recent interview.
  • Adekunle Gold has also teased a possible feature on the album.

With 5ive, Davido aims to follow in the footsteps of his record-breaking fourth album, Timeless, which shattered multiple streaming records and solidified his status as one of Africa’s biggest music exports.
