The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the full list of nominees for the 2025 CAF Men’s Awards, honouring the continent’s top footballers, coaches, clubs, and national teams for their outstanding performances from January 6 to October 15, 2025.
According to CAF’s statement on Monday, the nominees were shortlisted by a panel of experts drawn from the CAF Technical & Development Committee, CAF Legends, experienced coaches, and selected media representatives. Each category features 10 nominees, reflecting the best football talents and contributions across Africa.
Men’s Player of the Year Nominees
The prestigious African Footballer of the Year category features top stars including Victor Osimhen (Nigeria/Galatasaray), Mohamed Salah (Egypt/Liverpool), and Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/PSG).
Other contenders are Andre Frank Zambo Anguissa (Cameroon/Napoli), Fiston Mayele (DR Congo/Pyramids), Denis Bouanga (Gabon/LAFC), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea/Borussia Dortmund), Oussama Lamlioui (Morocco/RS Berkane), Iliman Ndiaye (Senegal/Everton), and Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal/Tottenham Hotspur).
Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year Nominees
Nigeria’s Stanley Nwabali (Chippa United) made the shortlist alongside Andre Onana (Cameroon/Trabzonspor), Yassine Bonou (Morocco/Al Hilal), Edouard Mendy (Senegal/Al Ahli), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa/Mamelodi Sundowns).
Others include Vozinha (Cape Verde/Chaves), Ahmed El Shenawy (Egypt/Pyramids), Munir Mohamedi (Morocco/RS Berkane), Marc Diouf (Senegal/Tengueth), and Aymen Dahmen (Tunisia/CS Sfaxien).
Men’s Interclub Player of the Year Nominees
Among the nominees are Ismael Belkacemi (Algeria/Al Ahli Tripoli), Blati Toure (Burkina Faso/Pyramids), Issoufou Dayo (Burkina Faso/RS Berkane), Emam Ashour (Egypt/Al Ahly), Ibrahim Adel (Egypt/Pyramids), and Oussama Lamlioui (Morocco/RS Berkane).
Others include Ahmed Samy (Egypt/Pyramids), Mohamed Hrimat (Morocco/AS FAR), Mohamed Chibi (Morocco/Pyramids), and Shomari Kapombe (Tanzania/Simba).
Men’s Coach of the Year Nominees
The list includes Walid Regragui (Morocco), Pape Thiaw (Senegal), Bubista (Cape Verde), Hossam Hassan (Egypt), Krunoslav Jurcic (Pyramids), and Moine Chaabani (RS Berkane).
Also nominated are Romuald Rakotondrabe (Madagascar CHAN), Sami Trabelsi (Tunisia), Tarik Sektioui (Morocco CHAN), and Mohamed Ouahbi (Morocco U-20).
Men’s Young Player of the Year Nominees
Emerging talents nominated include Daniel Bameyi (Nigeria/Primorje), Asharaf Tapsoba (Burkina Faso/Real du Faso), Alynho Haidara (Côte d’Ivoire/Mainz 05 Jacqueville), Noah Sadiki (DR Congo/Sunderland), and Abdellah Ouazane (Morocco/Ajax).
Others are Houssam Essadak (Morocco/US Touarga), Othmane Maamma (Morocco/Watford), Momoh Kamara (Sierra Leone/Minnesota United), Mbekezeli Mbokazi (South Africa/Orlando Pirates), and Tylon Smith (South Africa/Queens Park Rangers).
Men’s National Team of the Year Nominees
Contenders for National Team of the Year are Nigeria, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Tunisia, Cape Verde, and Morocco U-20.
Men’s Club of the Year Nominees
Leading clubs nominated include Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, RS Berkane, Pyramids, ASEC Mimosas, and Simba. Others are CR Belouizdad, CS Constantine, Stellenbosch, and Al Hilal (Sudan).
CAF stated that the winners in each category will be determined by votes from the CAF Technical Committee, media professionals, CAF Legends, and head coaches and captains of national teams and clubs participating in CAF competitions.
