CAC Extends Implementation of New Service Fees to October 1

Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has shifted the implementation of revised service fees to October 1, 2025, to allow stabilisation of its portal.

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a further deferment of the implementation of its revised service fees to October 1, 2025.

According to a 9am News report, the Commission disclosed in a statement on Saturday that the move became necessary to allow full stabilisation of its new company registration portal, which is expected to be fully optimised by mid-September.

“Consequently, and in order to deliver optimum value to its various stakeholders, the Commission has further deferred the implementation of the revised fees for its services. The new fees will now come into effect on 1st October, 2025,” the CAC said.

The Commission noted that the decision reflects its strong determination to ensure a seamless transition into the new service regime, guaranteeing efficiency and benefits for customers and other stakeholders.

“The Commission sincerely appreciates the patience, understanding and cooperation of our customers and other stakeholders during this critical phase of transformation,” the statement added.

CAC reaffirmed its commitment to building an intelligent, customer-centric registry that aligns with global standards and enhances business registration processes in Nigeria.

This is not the first time the Commission has postponed the implementation of revised fees. In June 2025, CAC announced that new charges would take effect from August 1. However, on July 22, the agency shifted the date to September 1, citing the need to perfect its upgraded portal, particularly penalties for document downloads.

With the new adjustment, October 1, 2025, is now the official commencement date for the updated service fees, giving stakeholders more time to adapt to the upcoming changes.
