Early Thursday morning, a tragic building collapse in the Jegede Olunloyo area of Ona Ara Local Government, Ibadan, Oyo State, resulted in the loss of ten lives, with seven others rescued from the debris. The incident occurred around 2 a.m., prompting an urgent response from the Oyo State Fire Services Agency.

In an official statement, the Oyo State Fire Services Agency confirmed their swift action following a distress call received shortly after the incident. “The Oyo State Fire Services Agency received a distress call around 2 a.m. at Jegede Olunloyo, Ibadan. We have so far recovered ten persons from the collapsed building, with seven persons rescued alive. Rescue operations are ongoing,” the statement noted.
