Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly left Nigeria just days after being questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Bobrisky, who shared details of his departure on Instagram, announced his first-class travel, saying, “This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl.” He humorously remarked on his passport photo, adding, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
This departure follows an intense week for Bobrisky, who was allegedly prevented from boarding a KLM flight to Amsterdam at Murtala Muhammed International Airport. According to 9am News Nigeria, he sustained injuries in the incident, which led to his being taken to EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he reportedly faced questioning over allegations of bribing officials with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges.
Bobrisky’s legal issues began earlier in April 2024, when he was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse, with reports indicating that he was discreetly relocated to a private location after only three weeks at Kirikiri Prison. The controversy escalated when social media influencer Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, shared an audio clip purportedly featuring Bobrisky discussing bribery of EFCC officials to dismiss charges.
While the situation around Bobrisky’s legal standing remains uncertain, his departure hints at the unfolding developments in the high-profile case.
