The winner will receive a new SUV and a grand prize of ₦100 million. At a news conference on Tuesday in Lagos, Busola Tejumola, Executive Head, Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, announced that the show would begin on July 28.
According to Tejumola, this year’s edition, which will run for 71 days, promises to be exciting and drama-filled. She noted on 9am news Nigeria, “The season 9 of BBNaija will go beyond drama, offering different blends of unique entertainment.” The show will run from July 28 to October 6, and it will feature housemates entering in pairs and facing challenges together.
Moreover, Tejumola encouraged viewers to watch the premiere on Sunday, July 28, to discover the theme and enjoy the fun, vibes, emotion, drama, dynamics, and intriguing twists. She added that the Big Brother Naija Buzz, hosted by Toke Makinwa, would provide behind-the-scenes content.
In addition, Tejumola mentioned that the show would feature unexpected twists, including the absence of the usual head of house challenge and special events like the pool and Saturday night parties. Furthermore, Tope Oshunkeye, Head of Marketing at MultiChoice, unveiled some lucky games, including “Lock-in,” where viewers predict winners of the immunity challenge for a chance to win ₦1 million each. Last edition’s viewers received a total of ₦120 million in rewards.
