Bandits Kidnap Journalists Alongside Family In Kaduna

In a breaking news report by 9am News Nigeria, robbers invaded Dahjonu village in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, on Saturday evening. The Bandits Kidnap Journalist Abdulgafar Alabelewe of The Nation, AbdulRaheem Abdu of Blueprint newspaper, and their families.

Alabelewe, who serves as the chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists’ Kaduna State Council, was among those abducted. Taofeeq Olayemi, a relative of one of the victims, confirmed the incident, stating that the bandits stormed the area around 10:30 pm, firing randomly before kidnapping the victims.

According to Olayemi, bandits took Abdu and his sick wife, leaving their ill daughter behind, and also abducted Alabelewe, his wife, and two of his children. Abdu’s spouse was later released for medical reasons.

Mansir Hassan, the public relations officer for the state police, was not reachable for comment at the time of this report due to a down phone line.
