Asake has extended his lead as the artist with the most number one songs in Nigeria. His latest song, Badman Gangsta featuring French star Tiakola, is now the 14th number one on the TurnTable Charts.
This marks his second chart-topper of 2025, after his appearance on Olamide’s 99, alongside Seyi Vibez, Young Jonn, and Daecolm.
Asake’s journey to dominance began with Omo Ope in January 2022. Since then, he has scored 11 number ones as a lead artist, pushing his total to 14 chart-topping tracks. His consistent performance has helped solidify his international presence, earning him two Grammy nominations.
Badman Gangsta is his first major release under his new label Giran Republic, following his split from Empire. The song is distributed globally by Gamma.
Asake has announced a new album titled Money, which will be released in 2025. He shared the news on his X account on June 5, revealing that the title reflects his well-known nickname, “Mr Money.”
The new album will be his fourth LP in four years and his fifth major project since he broke into the mainstream with his 2022 EP, Ololade Asake.
His third album, Lungu Boy, released in 2024, became the best-selling album of the year according to TurnTable Charts. Asake was also named Nigeria’s best-selling artist for the third year in a row.
