APC Secretariat explosion

An explosion, suspected to have been caused by dynamite, rocked the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat along Port Harcourt-Aba road in the early hours of Saturday. The blast caused extensive damage, bringing down the gate of the secretariat, shattering doors, windows, and other properties.

This marks the second explosion on the Chief Tony Okocha-led APC secretariat this year. The explosion occurred just as the Rivers State local government elections kicked off, with RSIEC confirming that all sensitive materials had been distributed ahead of the polls.

A viral video showing the aftermath of the explosion revealed workers inspecting the damage at the secretariat. The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, stated that she had not yet received a report on the incident. The APC has yet to issue an official statement regarding the attack at the time of this report.

This incident has raised concerns about the safety of the election process in the state.
