2027 Grassroots Mobilization

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to unite and intensify grassroots mobilization in support of President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The governor made the appeal at the weekend during an expanded stakeholders’ meeting of the party in Akure. He also briefed leaders on his administration’s achievements and ongoing developmental plans.

Renewed Hope and Grassroots Strength

Aiyedatiwa noted that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative was deliberately designed to strengthen the APC at the grassroots by registering at least 1,000 new members in each ward across Ondo State.

“This is our party, and it is our collective responsibility to make it stronger. The Renewed Hope Initiative has been structured to build the party from the grassroots, and our target is nothing less than one thousand new members per ward,” he said.

He stressed the importance of continuous mobilization, consistent stakeholder meetings, and unity among party members to keep the APC formidable ahead of the next elections.

Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted efforts to attract investors and boost the state’s economy, including the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) for a cement factory, fertilizer plant, and petrochemical industry in the state.

He assured residents that ongoing infrastructural projects, including those inherited, would be completed. He also disclosed plans to take over some federal roads to ease the burden of poor infrastructure on residents, citing projects in Ikare-Akungba Akoko, Idanre-Akure, and Okitipupa-Igbokoda as priorities.

State APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, commended the governor for convening the meeting and emphasized the need for members to redouble efforts at the grassroots.

“There is no division in our party. The government and the party remain one. Members of the party must conduct themselves in a way that respects the supremacy of the party,” Adetimehin said.

Other party leaders, including Victor Olabimtan, Chairman of SUBEB, and Ifedayo Abegunde, Director of Corporate Services at the NDDC, reaffirmed the unity of the APC in Ondo State and praised Aiyedatiwa’s visible developmental initiatives across all 18 local government areas.

The meeting was attended by prominent political figures, including Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, Secretary to the State Government Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, as well as several top stakeholders.

The consensus among party leaders was clear: with more unity, grassroots mobilization, and visible government achievements, the APC stands a strong chance of consolidating its dominance in the 2027 elections.
