This achievement highlights the movie’s immense appeal to Nigerian viewers, a key factor in its popularity and success on the platform, as reported by ogasabi.

Directed by Carmen Lilian-Ike-Okoro and Muyiwa Adesokun, this crime thriller follows a Lagos taxi driver on a mission to save his dying grandmother by delivering a mysterious box. The journey is filled with twists and turns, putting him in precarious situations.

Furthermore, Produced by Feyifunmi Oginni, Shina features a talented cast including Akin Lewis, Segun Arinze, Aleiru Idowukeji, Neo Akpofure, Immaculata Oko-Kasum, Shawn Faqua, and Tope Tedela. From July 8 to July 14, 2024, 9am news Nigeria revealed that Shina was the only Nollywood film on Netflix’s Top 10 Chart in Nigeria. Starring actor Timini Egbuson as executive producer, this marks his first film in such a role. Egbuson, known for his roles in Tinsel, Dwindle, and A Tribe Called Judah, won the AMVCA for Best Actor in a Drama in 2020 for Elevator Baby.

The 9am news also listed other top ten films including Anyone But You, Beverly Hills Cop, Mvera, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
