The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of online registration for its Basic Military Training Course (BMTC) 46/2025, inviting qualified Nigerians to join the service as Airmen and Airwomen.
According to a statement signed by Air Vice Marshal A.H. Bakari on behalf of the Chief of the Air Staff, the registration process will run from October 14 to November 25, 2025, and is completely free of charge.
Interested applicants are to apply through the official recruitment portal at www.nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng.
Application process
The Nigerian Air Force emphasized that applicants must carefully read and understand all instructions on the portal before filling out their forms. Upon successful submission, candidates are required to print three documents the Acknowledgment Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, and Local Government Area Attestation Form.
The attestation form must be signed by one of the following:
- A Military Officer not below the rank of Wing Commander,
- A Police Officer not below the rank of Chief Superintendent,
- A Local Government Chairman or Secretary, or
- A Magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.
Each attestation must include the signee’s passport photograph and a valid means of identification such as a National ID card, Driver’s Licence, or International Passport.
NAF further cautioned that invalid applications will not generate acknowledgment forms, stressing that all personal and academic information must be truthful and verifiable.
Eligibility requirements
To qualify, applicants must be Nigerian citizens and meet the required medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards. Male applicants must be at least 1.66 meters tall, while females must measure not less than 1.63 meters.
For Non-Tradesmen and Non-Tradeswomen, candidates must:
- Be aged between 18 and 22 years,
- Possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English, in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS, and
- Present a secondary school testimonial.
For Tradesmen and Tradeswomen, candidates must:
- Be aged between 18 and 27 years,
- Hold a National Diploma (ND) or NCE with a minimum of lower credit and five credits in core subjects,
- Possess a valid trade test certificate, and
- Hold a driver’s licence for driving-related positions.
Sportsmen and sportswomen are also encouraged to apply but must present certificates and medals as proof of professional achievement.
Applicants must have no prior criminal convictions.
Screening and further information
The Zonal General Aptitude Test for shortlisted candidates will be held at a date to be announced later on the recruitment portal. Only those who pass the test will proceed to the final selection interview.
