Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, clocked 50 on Wednesday, sparking an outpouring of goodwill messages from fans, celebrities, and loved ones across the globe.
Supporters flooded social media with photos and tributes, celebrating the “African Queen” crooner as a true icon who has shaped Nigeria’s music industry for more than two decades.
On X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook, fans hailed the Afrobeats pioneer for his contribution to African music.

Born on September 18, 1975, in Benue State, 2Baba hails from the Idoma ethnic group. He began his career with the iconic Plantashun Boyz group before going solo in 2004 with his debut album Face 2 Face.
His breakout hit, “African Queen,” became a global sensation, earning him international recognition. Over the years, he has bagged prestigious awards including the MTV Europe Music Award, MTV Africa Music Awards, MOBO Awards, and Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
