Onyinyechi Basil, proudly representing Anambra State, has been crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025. She clinched the coveted title after an impressive display at the grand finale held on Saturday night in Lagos, surpassing Miss Lagos, Damilola Bolarinde, in the final round.

Miss Bayelsa, Fortune Kurobo, secured the position of second runner-up, while Miss Ogun, Irene Ikediashi, finished as third runner-up. Rounding out the top five, Miss Akwa Ibom, Idah Eno, was named Miss Supranational Nigeria 2025.

The competition began with 22 contestants from across the country, with 10 making it to the final stage. Among them were representatives of Delta, Ekiti, Oyo, Imo, and Ebonyi States.

The dazzling ceremony, hosted by Anthony Abraham and Victory Wilson, drew a vibrant audience and trended widely on social media. Fans and pageant enthusiasts across Nigeria eagerly followed the suspense-filled moments leading up to the crowning.

Basil succeeds Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, Chidinma Adetshina, who currently holds the title of Miss Universe Africa and Oceania.

With her victory, Onyinyechi Basil will now represent Nigeria at the international Miss Universe pageant later this year. She is expected to compete against contestants from around the world, carrying the hopes of Nigeria on the global stage.
