Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) women’s team has officially announced the signing of Nigeria’s Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. The forward has penned a contract with the French giants until June 30, 2027, bringing her remarkable talent, leadership, and international experience to the club.

Ajibade, who hails from Lagos, began her professional career at just 13 with FC Robo Queens in Nigeria before rising to become one of Africa’s most celebrated football stars. In 2018, she was named Nigeria’s Best Young Player, a recognition that opened doors for her European journey. She first moved to Avaldsnes IL in Norway before joining Atlético de Madrid in Spain, where she made a strong impact in the Spanish league.

Last season with Atlético, Ajibade featured in 25 matches, scoring eight goals and registering three assists. Her attacking prowess, versatility, and creativity earned her recognition as one of the standout players in Spain’s Liga F.

On the international stage, Ajibade has been a consistent force for the Super Falcons. She captained the Nigerian side to victory at the 2018 and 2024 editions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). She also played a crucial role at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and represented Nigeria at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, further cementing her reputation as one of the continent’s finest.

Speaking during her unveiling, Ajibade expressed her excitement about joining PSG.
“Joining PSG is an honor. I am committed to giving my all to help the club win trophies and inspire young female footballers, both in Nigeria and beyond,” she said.

PSG officials also praised her signing, noting that her experience, leadership qualities, and winning mentality will be vital in the club’s pursuit of domestic and European success.

Ajibade now joins a growing list of Nigerian football stars making their mark on the global stage, reinforcing the country’s dominance in women’s football. Her move to Paris Saint-Germain is seen as not only a boost for the club but also an inspiration to young female athletes across Africa.

With this signing, PSG continues to strengthen its squad as it competes for Ligue 1 Féminine and UEFA Women’s Champions League titles. Fans will be eager to see Ajibade in action when the season kicks off, with hopes that she will replicate her goal-scoring brilliance and leadership at the Parc des Princes.
