In a new development, the Federal Government of Nigeria has extended the deadline for the ongoing paramilitary recruitment under the Ministry of Interior by one week, giving more Nigerians the opportunity to apply for service positions.
Initially set to close on Monday, August 4, 2025, the application portal will now remain open until Monday, August 11, 2025, according to an official statement issued on Sunday by Major General Abdulmalik Jibrin (retd.), Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
More Time to Apply for Key National Services
Major General Jibrin said the extension was approved to allow eligible and interested Nigerians more time to submit their applications for positions in the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
“The decision was made in the national interest to ensure wider participation in the recruitment process,” Jibrin stated.
He emphasized that the recruitment process will remain free, fair, and transparent, adding that applicants must only use the official recruitment portal at:
https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng
The Secretary of the CDCFIB reminded all prospective candidates that:
- The application is 100% free — no payment is required at any stage.
- All applications must be submitted online via the official CDCFIB portal.
- The Board will not entertain complaints from candidates who apply through unofficial or fraudulent websites.
The 9am News report confirms that this paramilitary recruitment drive is part of the government’s broader plan to tackle youth unemployment and strengthen national security services with qualified personnel.
With this extension, eligible Nigerians now have a full extra week to complete their applications. Applicants are encouraged to double-check all documents and submit early to avoid last-minute website congestion.
