Nottingham Forest will face Brighton in FA Cup quarter-final, after securing the final FA Cup quarter-final spot, defeating Ipswich Town in a thrilling penalty shootout after the match ended 1-1 in extra time.
The match was intense, with George Hirst giving Ipswich the lead in the 53rd minute, only for Ryan Yates to equalize 15 minutes later.After a goalless extra time, the match went to penalties, where Nottingham Forest emerged victorious, winning 5-4. Matz Sels was the hero, saving Jack Taylor’s penalty in sudden death, after all first nine takers had scored theirs, to send Forest into the quarter-finals.
Nottingham Forest will now face Brighton in the quarter-finals at the Amex Stadium, with the match scheduled to take place on the weekend of March 29/30. Forest will surely be hoping for a similar outcome as their latest Premier League meeting, where they thrashed Brighton 7-0 at the Forest Ground.
This is Forest’s second quarter-final appearance in four seasons, a significant achievement for the team, one the fans will be proud of.
