President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to participate in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), a premier global platform promoting sustainable development and socio-economic progress.
The President’s visit follows an invitation by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. Tinubu’s arrival was announced by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, who shared a video of the President being welcomed by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” the event is set to run from January 12 to 18. It brings together world leaders, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss innovative strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and fostering global prosperity.
President Tinubu is scheduled to deliver a keynote address, emphasizing his administration’s key reforms in:
- Energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.
- Transportation advancements for sustainable urban mobility.
- Public health strategies to enhance national resilience.
- Economic development and partnerships for growth.
Strengthening Bilateral Ties
During his visit, Tinubu is expected to engage in high-level discussions with UAE leaders to deepen bilateral relations and explore new opportunities for collaboration in economic and diplomatic spheres.
Accompanying the President are key government officials, including:
- Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
- Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President.
- Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
This marks a significant step in fostering sustainable development and solidifying Nigeria’s role in global sustainability efforts while strengthening ties with international partners.
