Nigerians 2025

Nigerians bid farewell to 2024 and embraced 2025 with joy, fireworks, and renewed hope. From Lagos to Kano, and Taraba to Imo, the New Year’s atmosphere was electrified with celebrations in churches, fun spots, and public gatherings.

As the clock struck midnight, the skies lit up with fireworks and jubilant shouts of “Happy New Year!” resonated across the country. Despite economic hardships, including soaring inflation and the rising cost of living, the spirit of resilience and hope remained unshaken.

Church Services and State Events

In Lagos, the Cathedral Church of Christ at Marina hosted its annual Watch Night service, drawing worshippers to reflect on the past year and pray for blessings in the new one. Across Nigeria, state governments organized public events, fostering a sense of unity and celebration.

Governors, ministers, and notable figures sent messages of hope, promising to tackle the challenges that 2024 left behind.

Global Festivities

While Nigerians celebrated, countries worldwide had already rung in the New Year. Kiribati and the Christmas Islands were among the first to welcome 2025. In Sydney, Australia, over a million people gathered around the Harbour to witness nine tonnes of fireworks light up the iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

A Hopeful Outlook

Despite the struggles of 2024, Nigerians remain optimistic about the year ahead. With prayers for national progress and personal success, the country embraces 2025 with faith and determination to overcome challenges and seize opportunities.
